Community Based Victim Services
This program provides assistance and emotional support to women, children and men who have been victims of sexual and/or violent crimes, including:
- Violence in Relationships
- Spousal Assault / Abuse
- Adult Sexual Assault / Abuse
- Child Sexual Assault / Abuse
- Historical Sexual Assault / Abuse
- Gay/Lesbian Sexual Assault / Abuse
- Bi-Sexual/Transgender Sexual Assault / Abuse
- Elderly Sexual Assault / Abuse
- Criminal Harassment
How Do I Access This Program?
If you are a victim of any of the above assaults and/or crimes, please call 250-785-6021 Ext 241 and ask for the Community Victim Services Coordinator.
What Can I Expect?
- A trained Victim Services Coordinator will:
- Provide emotional support
- Help prepare you for court
- Accompany you to court
- Help you to fill out any necessary forms, such as a Victim Impact Statement and a Crime Victim Assistance Program application
- Provide you with information about the criminal justice system
- Provide you with information on the status of your case
Provide you with referrals to other services you may require at this time
