OUR ORGANIZATION
Our History
North Peace Community Resources Society is a not for profit society, established in 1974.
In the early 70’s, the Ministry of Human Resources developed a government initiative encouraging regions to implement Community Resource Boards. These boards were to act as an effective community voice in government, involved in the planning and delivery of integrated services within a given region.
In response to the initiative, the Fort St. John Community Services and Information Centre began the process of forming a Community Resource Board.
Sixty-four members formed North Peace Community Resources Society (NPCRS) and elected the first volunteer Board of Directors in May of 1974.
